Great game, & don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Not really game of the year though, as it's not a FPS, & we all know that ONLY war based FPS's deserve GOTY status. I will be getting this game though.

As long as PS4 launches before years end I will be happy & I don't think it will hurt them. From the standpoint of characters & vehicles, it was far better than MarioKart, but track design & gameplay were better in Mariokart (SNES version I mean, as it is still the best in series).

Fact is, it won't be used for the offline game, it is more than likely Sony are trying to eliminate the cost of those pesky online verification codes you get with most games to allow online access. All it could be potentially doing with such a patent, is what other developers are already doing with games online modes, in that used games will require an extra fee to be played online.
So, now companies like EA, Ubisoft, Sony, MS, Hacktavision & such give us a piece of paper with our games that include a online verification or activation code, so I would assume Sony are looking for a way to cut that cost of having to include that useless slip of paper.

Nobody did mate, in fact, there PR head has already stated that there machine won't block used games. I mean, they made PS3 games region free, unlike both Nintendo's & MS's machines.
Sony knows they need every advantage to get good sales numbers fast with there next console, & they are aware that this type of feature is not the type of negative press they need.

Wow, this is a new low for even the interweb media & fanboys......Bashing Sony before they have even shown, or announced existance of a new console.
They filed for about a thousand patents last year alone, & lately (as in last few months) have filed for a boatload more patents (many of which won't be used ever).
So stop this Sony bashing, as it is already ridiculous. We know from last gen. that U.S. media hate Sony, & want them to fail...
Although I think COD has hit a stalemate, it is a far better game than Halo, as Halo has also hit a stalemate, but the difference is Halo hit the stalemate by Halo 2, whereas COD only hits it's strides this gen. & hit that wall with the series highlight in World at War.
Both are still doing the same ol' same ol', but COD does it with far more style from it's butter smooth framerate (60fps), as opposed to Halo still being stuck on 30fps, not that that is the deal...
I loved 2012 for gaming....then again, I was lucky enough to purchase a PSVita, as well as some of the best games this gen. ending with one of the best fps's ever in FC3.
Also, Gravity Rush, UC:GA, & massive ammounts more great PSVita & PS3 games, some exclusives, some not, but all readily available on my Sony machines.

I was getting this game the 1st time I laid eyes upon it's marvellous gameplay....so I won't be swayed either way, as it's already on my list, just from seeing the gameplay vid where superman smashes someone into a elevator & smashes his head into it, making large dings, as the lift rises to top floor. It has looked like a class act from day one of gameplay being shown.
